Sport4Kids (S4K) have announced that they have joined the UK governments Kickstart Programme. The Kickstart Scheme provides funding to employers to create job placements for 16 to 24 year olds on Universal Credit. The aim of the scheme is to give young people high quality training in a qualified workplace.

Steve Jones, CEO of S4K, said ‘We are proud to be part of the Kickstart Programme and to be able to offer young people an opportunity in challenging times. The S4K brand is going from strength to strength and we have a history of developing young people and offering them careers and qualifications.

‘’The Kickstart Programme provides a wonderful chance for us to make a difference to UK employment through our franchising set up. We are delighted to have been accepted and cannot wait to get started!’’

S4K Head of Recruitment, Maxine Ingram stated “The UK Government wants to get the economy back on track and is providing a fantastic platform for young people to gain work skills. We are proud to be part of this initiative and will be doing our best to offer experience and longer term careers to those who apply to the Kickstart Programme with S4K”.

With the UK economy suffering the knock-on effects of Covid-19, the government is looking to boost the economy and prospects for young people through a number of schemes. By signing up for the S4K programme those accepted will receive accredited training and get personalised briefs based on their interests, with options including becoming a Support Sports Coach, Support Digital Media & Marketing Assistant, Support Recruitment Coordinator and Support Business Administrator.
