Fully integrated content agency Aurora Media Worldwide has enjoyed a bumper November in 2021, winning two awards at the Broadcast Sport Awards and securing three accolades at The Sports Business Awards.
The Broadcast Sport Awards recognise the best sports content on TV and digital platforms, from sports documentaries and live sport production to social media and more.
Aurora Media Worldwide picked up the Sport Production of the Year award for its Extreme E production, in collaboration with close partners Extreme E Studios, North One Television, Interstate Creative Partners, NEP Group, Inc. and Al Kamel Systems S.L.
Aurora also picked up the award for the Best Lockdown Production, for its Goodwood Speedweek production for ITV.
Aurora managing director, Lawrence Duffy, commented: “It was an honour for Extreme E to be recognised for its cutting-edge production and innovative storytelling. It was a fantastic team effort to win this award in only the first season of racing.
“It was also a brilliant team effort and a privilege to work with The Goodwood Group event team on such an innovative and challenging format during an unprecedented time for the industry.”
The Sports Business Awards, within which Aurora enjoyed further success, recognise and reward achievement by those behind the scenes that help facilitate sporting excellence and endeavours. A particular focus in this year’s awards has been resilience, adaptability and resourcefulness shown by businesses during the unprecedented challenge of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Aurora’s three prizes at the 2021 Sports Business Awards included the Silver Award for Agency of the Year, the Silver Award for Sports Innovation which once again recognised the Extreme E production, and the Bronze Award for Sustainability in Sports which again acknowledged Aurora’s work on Extreme E.
Duffy continued: “We’re delighted to have picked up a further three awards this month, and big thanks must go again to all our brilliant team and partners who have made this possible.
“2021 has been a fantastic year so far for us, and it still is not over!”
