The year 2021 has brought another major milestone for MR Solutions Group, with the addition of three new cryogen-free MR with 42cm bore size: 7T, 4.7T and 3T, to its product portfolio.
Originally a spin-out of the University of Surrey, MR Solutions is now an independent world-leader in MRI technology and a developer and manufacturer of the world’s first range of commercial, superconducting, cryogen-free [dry magnet]and preclinical benchtop MR systems.
These three new magnets are suitable for neonatal research and preclinical imaging in up to 15kg animals and are compatible with MR Solutions’ nuclear imaging products.
MR Solutions’ dry magnet technology is unique in that it does not require consumables such as liquid helium or nitrogen for cooling, so no quench pipes or valves are necessary as part of the product.
The installation of MR Solutions’ new large bore magnets is inexpensive, and they can be installed in a limited space.
Speaking to The Parliamentary Review, founder and chairman Dr David Taylor, said: “We have developed new MRI systems that don’t require liquid helium. In this way, we have shown that changing how things are done can benefit the industry overall.
“We hope that through broadening the product portfolio in the research market overall, we will be able to boost both the reputation of our industry and its potential reach. While the market we currently work in is small, we believe that in future there is scope for considerable increase in size.”
