The pharmaceutical industry recently came together for the annual Making Pharmaceuticals exhibition and conference in Coventry, Warwickshire, the leading event of its kind in the industry in the UK. Given its role as an ingredients and raw materials supplier, Robinson Brothers attended the two-day event at CBS Arena, which offered an ideal opportunity to discuss topics pertinent to pharmaceutical research and production.
Robinson Brothers has served the global pharmaceutical industry since its establishment in 1869, producing fine chemicals that are used to manufacture vital medicines. The company has a long history of working closely with a range of pharmaceutical manufacturers and contract research organisation to develop chemical intermediates that can be used in common medicines and treatment.
These include chemical intermediates such as Mercaptoacetic acid methyl ester, which is used in the synthesis of anti-inflammatory medicines, and 2-Benzylaminoethanol which is used in the production of anti-depressants and anti-emetics, alongside many others.
Robinson Brothers’ expertise in organic chemistry allows the company to offer bespoke custom synthesis and contract manufacturing of New Chemical Entities [NCEs] for pharmaceutical intermediates up to, and including, the Registered Start Material [RSM] at grams to multi-tonne scale. Robinson Brothers is able to achieve this by offering seamless progression from research and development to commercial production.
Based in the West Midlands, Robinson Brothers’ manufacturing site offers a Research & Development Laboratory, Kilo-Laboratory, Pilot Plant and large-scale manufacturing plants. Vessel capacity varies from 25 litres to 13,500 litres across the multiple manufacturing plants and associated ancillary equipment.
