In March this year, Robinson Brothers Limited undertook a successful triennial review of compliance with the ISO14001 Environmental Management Standard and has since been recommended for a further three years of certification by the British Standards Institution.
Robinson Brothers is a leading manufacturer of fine chemicals and rubber accelerators, serving the Pharmaceutical, Medical Devices, Veterinary, Agrochemical and Speciality Chemical industries to name but a few.
The firm first gained ISO 14001 certification in January 2001, with the 2021 review meaning that the company will enjoy a minimum 23 consecutive years of accreditation, with the latest renewal running until 2024.
In a statement announcing the renewal, Robinson Brothers commented: “This ongoing commitment is essential for the site, our employees, our customers and our community as a whole.
“Fundamental to the success of this review was achieving year-on-year improvements in the areas of odour control, energy use/carbon dioxide generation reduction, waste reduction, water use and water waste reduction, and zero breaches in the form of emissions to the atmosphere from the site’s production activities.
“The review showed that Robinson Brothers Ltd has clearly demonstrated improvements in all of the required environmental areas during the three-year period between 2018 and 2020. This recertification also confirms that a strong culture of continuous improvement exists within both our personnel and the Environmental Management System that supports them.
"As such, and in conjunction with our ongoing compliance with the ISO 14001 Environmental Management Standard, we will continue to improve our environmental sustainability and in turn continue to minimise our potential impact on the surrounding environment.”
