Amid the deluge of negative health and economic news over the course of 2020, there have also been a number of good news stories involving leaders who have reengineered their companies in order to help with the fight against Covid-19. One such leader is Rube Fernando of Ardmel Group in Glenthroes.
The firm, who specialise in the design and manufacture of machines for the clothing, motorcar and electronic injury, have spent much of 2020 supporting the NHS and other organisations in the battle with Covid.
As they explain on their website they have used their ‘many years experience assisting customers with their products, designs and machinery to provide ongoing support during the difficulties that so many businesses are suffering during the Coronavirus CV-19 pandemic.’
They have also made a commitment to fast tracking Covid-19 orders for frontline workers.
But the degree to which they are reimagining their company does not stop with the help they are providing to the NHS. They are also looking to help the many organisations who will be adapting to an entirely new environment.

Writing in The Parliamentary Review, Fernando went on to explain the importance of getting the right people in your business:
‘People are also a company’s largest asset, and a company cannot be built on one person’s vision. That’s why I invested a large amount of time in the youngsters I employed, and would always try to promote from within the company. Today, 50 per cent of my workforce has been with me for over 20 years.
