Beauty Kitchen promotes vegan skincare range for Veganuary
With greater numbers of people taking part in Veganuary every year as its popularity grows, Beauty Kitchen is promoting its cruelty free and vegan sustainable skincare range to kick-off the New Year.
Beauty Kitchen’s award-winning Seahorse Plankton+ range is registered with The Vegan Society and is Leaping Bunny approved by Cruelty Free International. It consists of a plethora of products from cleansers to face masks and serums to oils and is scientifically proven to renew and protect skin.
To ensure that the Seahorse Plankton+ range is vegan appropriate, the products are fully-plant based with the marine extracts grown by Beauty Kitchen in giant algae baths within a bioreactor, which essentially functions as a large greenhouse. The microalgae then absorb CO2 and release oxygen, which creates renewable energy that is sold back to the electricity grid. Furthermore, two per cent of Beauty Kitchen’s sales are donated to charities such as The Seahorse Trust to ensure the continued conservation of seahorses and plankton.

Shaikh & Co brings good news for businesses
Shaikh & Co Chartered Certified Accountants & Registered Auditors have produced a handy guide for business leaders this week after hospitality and other firms received a significant boost.
Following the first Covid-19 lockdown in the UK back in the spring of 2020, The Financial Conduct Authority has won its court case to get insurers to pay out for business interruption. The ruling affects around 370,000 policyholders and over £1 billion worth of claims should now be paid out.
The news is significant for a wide range of small businesses including pubs, cafes, wedding planners and beauty parlours, who were concerned about becoming insolvent when insurers for business interruption policy claims on losses refused to provide compensation for the first lockdown.
The Financial Conduct Authority has said that it will work quickly with insurers to ensure claims are paid out, making interim payments where possible. Insurers have also been instructed to communicate directly and quickly with policyholders who have made claims affected by the ruling to explain the next steps.

NSF launches IVD app
NSF International has announced the launch of its new in vitro diagnostics [IVD] app, which is now available to download freely via Apple’s App Store and Android’s Google Play Store.
The IVD app comes with a number of useful sections and resources, including the latest EU industry regulations and guidance, EU IVD regulatory updates as well as other breaking news stories relating to key medical devices, and access to white papers, webinars, articles, thought leadership content and other features.
The app also comes with an Ask an Expert feature which enables users to submit questions to NSF industry gurus, which will be responded to within 48 hours. Elsewhere on the app, users can find information on NSF’s range of IVD and medical device training courses, covering subjects such as quality management, auditing and regulations. Users can also register for these courses directly through the app and access instructor-led virtual classrooms and eLearning facilities.
