Viktor Karlsson, CEO of Unified Communications as a Service [UCaaS] provider Telavox, has said that the appointment of its new vice president of products, Tor Blomdell, will bring a major boost to the company’s offering.
Blomdell, appointed in late October, is a former senior product leader at DigitalRoute, Net Insight and Ericsson. In his new post at Telavox, he will lead the company’s product development efforts and fuel international expansion through the launch of new product offerings.
Telavox is a Nordic UCaaS provider, committed to enabling productive and simple communication and collaboration in the workplace. Founded in 2003 and headquartered in Malmö, Sweden, Telavox currently employs more than 360 employees. The Telavox platform has more than 229,000 individual users, including in the British market.
In welcoming his new colleague on board, Telavox CEO Karlsson explained that Blomdell ticked “all the boxes” of what he and his senior leadership team were looking for in a product lead.
Karlsson said: “Our new vice president of products will have a massive impact on our offering. This role will enable us to execute better and faster action on more ideas, which is critical given the ambitious goals we have set for ourselves in the areas of product development, new market entry and mergers & acquisitions [M&A].
“Tor [Blomdell] ticks all the boxes. His experience in both Software as a Service [SaaS] and telecommunications, customer service and business support systems [BSS] software is exactly what we were looking for; a skillset that very few other candidates possessed. His ability to understand our opportunities and his vision on how to take advantage of them really resonated with ours.”
Blomdell started his career in corporate development at Ericsson, leading strategic projects such as the assembly of an Open Source Software [OSS]/BSS stack and media infrastructure. He later went on to build and lead product organisations across media and entertainment for Microsoft Mediaroom and Net Insight. He worked with telecommunication technology and Customer Relationship Management [CRM]/Enterprise Resource Planning [ERP] systems across many markets, including in Sweden, India, and the US.
Blomdell also boasts expertise in the realms of commercial management, product management, and product design, accumulated from his previous roles.
Discussing why he chose to join Telavox, Blomdell said that he was impressed by the company’s workforce and its impressive culture and performance.
“I have been so impressed by the people I've met. Telavox is driven by a strong company culture. The product really stands out with its user experience, performance, and ease of use, which makes me excited to be part of the growth journey ahead as the company continues to expand across Europe.
“The running of the core business will require a good blend of the experience I have gained to date. I look forward to working with the team on getting the company moving on this journey toward our goals that we have set out together.”
