The General Teaching Council for Scotland [GTC Scotland] - the teaching profession’s independent registration and regulation body in Scotland - is hosting a virtual opportunity to meet with the independent facilitators of the National Discussion on Education in the country.
These facilitators, Professor Alma Harris and Professor Carol Campbell, will be present in the virtual discussion alongside GTC Scotland’s chief executive and registrar, Dr Pauline Stephen.
The online event will be held from 16:00-17:30 GMT on November 29, 2022 and is targeted toward teachers and college lecturers in Scotland.
Dr Pauline Stephen commented: “Trusted teaching leads education and the voice of Scotland’s teaching profession is critical to informing real and meaningful change.
“Our profession shapes our own standards and now has the opportunity to shape a future vision for Scottish education through this debate.”
As part of the online debate, breakout rooms will be used to help facilitate group discussion.
A summary of the entire session will subsequently be submitted to the Scottish government and the sessions will be recorded for the independent facilitators to be privy to all participants’ feedback. Any feedback disclosed to them will not be shared with any other individuals.
Eligible individuals interested in attending the virtual discussion can register their interest here.
