Copper Connexions, a Berkshire-based firm which has supported the power generation industry since 2008, has successfully completed its ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 annual audits.
Announcing that the company has secured a full pass in all three areas on LinkedIn, managing director Anthony Denison-Birch said: “I do need to give a big thank you to Karen Rapley, who has spent the last few weeks completing the required work to complete this audit.”
Indeed, Denison-Birch does not need reminding of his fortune in that he has reliable staff that he can delegate responsibilities to when needed, and he has long regarded having trustworthy employees as a key part of running a successful business.
Speaking to the Leaders Council of Great Britain & Northern Ireland’s Matthew O’Neill back in March about his leadership of the Copper Connexions business, Denison-Birch said: “I am lucky with the staff that I have in that they embrace the responsibilities they are given.”
Denison-Birch also acknowledged that the challenge of ensuring regular compliance as well as maintaining training standards and keeping affairs up to date is among the major challenges of running one’s own company, and he can therefore be delighted that the firm has cleared the latest such hurdle with flying colours.
He explained: “Maintaining people’s skills and training, keeping everyone up to date and nurturing their confidence is among the biggest challenges in our industry.
“Considering the many challenges that come with running a business, entrepreneurs who are brave enough to go out there, start a business and put themselves on the line really inspire me. It is a massive step setting up a business, so anybody who has successfully done so is a real source of inspiration.”
Having taken the firm from a sole-trading entity to an accredited business employing 13 people and hoping to expand, Denison-Birch can certainly consider himself among that inspiring entrepreneurial stock.
