UK IT Industry Awards: Techbuyer named Most Sustainable Organisation of the Year 2021

The Techbuyer Group has consolidated its position at the forefront of driving forward sustainable operations in the UK IT industry, after being named Most Sustainable Organisation of the Year at the 2021 UK IT Industry Awards.

The UK IT Industry Awards set the benchmark for standards in IT, recognising exceptional people, projects and technology innovation. Sponsored by the British Computing Society, the UK IT Industry Awards are the highest profile awards in the technology industry and are often referred to as the IT Oscars.

Sustainability in the digital and technology industries is more pertinent than ever in the wake of the UK’s hosting of the historic COP26 climate change summit. Techbuyer has long been working to change perceptions toward eco-friendliness in its sector, moving the mentality of industry figureheads away from a “take-make-waste” society and toward a more circular economy.

The credibility of this work was underlined by Techbuyer’s success in the Sustainability category at this year’s awards and came as part of a double success after sister company, Interact, won the award for UK Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Some of the UK’s largest and most well-known companies were in attendance at the awards ceremony, many of which came away with awards and commendations. These business giants included IBM, HSBC, HMRC, and the DVLA.

Techbuyer’s commitment to a sustainable future for IT and its endeavour to build a sustainable business model to support that drive, proved to be aspects that particularly impressed judges and helped influence their final decision. Techbuyer were able to tell a consistent 360-degree story that added sincerity and credibility to their already impressive credentials.
