Since its 1991 establishment as King & Co, April King Legal has advised thousands of clients, specialising in Wills that preserve more assets for future generations. 30 years later, the firm has taken a huge stride into the future after ‘April’, an artificial intelligence based digital assistant. was born this year to further develop the client facing side of the business.
According to April King Legal founder and CEO, Paul King, the name ‘April’ felt wholly appropriate for the new AI assistant having featured in the business name and originally been inspired by the Association of Practicing Independent Lawyers.
Prior to the AI assistant's induction, which incidentally took place back in April this year, King was delighted to welcome on board his firm’s first “digital colleague”, brought to life in collaboration with technology company and global leader in conversational artificial intelligence, Amelia.
Writing on LinkedIn, King explained that ‘April’ was born to bring conversational law and conversational artificial intelligence together and enhance April King Legal’s fantastic client service.
King said: “Following a 30-year ‘interview’, we are pleased to introduce our first digital colleague, ‘April’. I’m so excited to say that working with Amelia over the last few months has been simply amazing. Their team are incredibly professional, and it has been a genuine honour and masterclass for my colleague, Owen King and I to witness and be a part of.
“We have had a global team working with ‘April’ to teach her the ropes and connect to all our systems, enabling us to focus on client service.”
To ensure that client service retains the highest possible standards, April King Legal’s team is led by regulated lawyers and specialists in their field of law, and the firm strives to remain up to date with the latest legal, technical and regulatory developments.
King highlighted: “Our practitioners are here to protect our clients’ interests and give practical, realistic, and affordable solutions.
“We know that going to a traditional solicitor's firm can be intimidating and expensive. We are different. We employ a range of lawyers and customer service experts to make sure we understand our clients’ issues and expectations, and we deliver expert solutions tailored to their needs.”
