Paul Bowley has distinguished himself as a highly motivated leader with a proven track record in managing complex organisations. His benevolent approach, coupled with a steadfast commitment to standards, probity, honesty, openness, and transparency, has been the cornerstone of his success.

As the Chief Executive Officer of Abbeycare, Paul has played a pivotal role in the transformation and success of one of the UK’s longest established private addiction companies. Upon his appointment in October 2015, Paul’s initial focus was to stabilise the business financially, a significant challenge that involved maintaining relationships with trade creditors worth over half a million pounds. Under his guidance, the group achieved this within two and a half years. 

Paul’s leadership was further tested with the merger and acquisition of The Hygrove, a beautiful Georgian manor in Gloucester, to the Abbeycare Group in September 2018. At a time when shareholders were showing their support and confidence in Paul by investing substantial personal capital into the business, the CEO’s decisive actions over the following year were crucial in enabling the business to prosper, while growing organically and strategically.

The onset of the Covid-19 pandemic presented unprecedented challenges. However, Paul’s foresight and dynamic management acumen shone through. In November 2020 he oversaw further acquisition of new premises in Erskine, Renfrewshire for Abbeycare Scotland. Despite the building requiring significant upgrades, his effective project management ensured a complete refurbishment was completed on time and within budget.

Under Paul’s stewardship, the Abbeycare Group has not only stabilised but positively flourished, now boasting annual group revenues in excess of £5 million. His role as CEO has been characterised by a very successful turnaround and financial profitability through a blend of innovative problem solving and unwavering commitment to the company and the wellbeing of its clients.
