Oldham-based social enterprise Upturn has been shortlisted for a Manchester Evening News [MEN] Business Award in the ‘Turnover under £1 Million’ category.
The news of the shortlisting capped a fantastic week for Upturn, after managing director, Anwar Ali, was handed an OBE by Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal, at Windsor Castle.
Ali commented: “Following on from my own personal award from last week, I am super proud to announce that Upturn has been shortlisted for the MEN Business Awards in the ‘Turnover under £1 Million’ category.
“I am so, so proud of the team and it is so humbling to be shortlisted and recognised for the work we do.”
The MEN Business Awards have been running since 1992 and seek to recognise the very best in business in the northwest every year. Businesses and organisations of excellence spanning all sizes and working in all sectors are recognised, from long-established multi-nationals to small and medium-sized enterprises and community interest companies.
The awards will be handed out on April 7 at the MEN Business Awards gala at Kimpton Clocktower Hotel in Manchester, and everyone at The Leaders Council would like to wish Upturn the very best of luck.
