A new Ministry of Justice case study has found that the UK legal sector contributes more than £22 billion in gross value to the British economy per year.
The case study said that in addition to generating significant value, it also provides employment for around 350,000 people around the country.
Furthermore, the legal system underpins trade, business and the markets, while also being "forward-looking" in a bid to "meet the challenges of an ever-changing global environment".
"Post COVID-19, there are huge opportunities for UK legal professionals to expand their global footprint by collaborating and partnering with colleagues in jurisdictions around the world," the case study read.
