The United Colleges Group [UCG] has announced plans for the creation of a new world-class education facility in the London Borough of Brent.
UCG, a partnership comprised of the College of North West London and City of Westminster College, has acquired the site of the Olympic Office Centre in Wembley. It is there where it plans to deliver the innovative and state-of-the-art education centre, which will bring new jobs to the Wembley and wider Brent area and offer opportunities for young people and adults of all ages to improve their skillset, advance their careers and gain valuable experience.
The new facility will focus on providing green skills, including in fields such as engineering and the built environment. It will also offer courses in digital technology, computing, and health and social care subjects.
For students with supported learning requirements or who speak English as a second language, there will also be a wide range of course opportunities to select from.
The site at the heart of Wembley is currently at stage one of development, and UCG is looking forward to collaborating with its local authority partners in Brent to deliver on this ambitious vision for the area.
Stephen Davis, group principal and CEO of the United Colleges Group, said that the plans reaffirmed UCG’s commitment to playing an active role in growing the Brent area and London at large.
Davis said: “I am thrilled to be able to announce the United Colleges Group’s ground-breaking plans for a world-class education facility at the heart of our Brent community.
“Our new site will bring more education, training, and skills opportunities for the residents of Brent and the wider London community and will provide the community with an important place to work and learn.
“With its focus on green skills and emerging technologies, we are also pleased to say that our new location will enable us not just to provide a boost to the present generation but will do so for many generations to come.”
