For a second successive year, The Leith Group has been named part of the Export Champion Community by the Department for International Trade [DIT].
Leith Planning, the hub of The Leith Group, is the only town and country planning consultancy in the UK to be handed the role.
As part of this function, The Leith Group will serve as an Export Champion for the Northern Powerhouse, which is recognised globally as an established, competitive and thriving economic area with lofty growth ambitions.
The Northern Powerhouse project is more widely geared toward enabling businesses in the north to win more opportunities domestically and internationally, and generate the wealth and jobs that will allow the region to compete with London and the southeast.
The Leith Group’s Chief Operations Officer, Shan Dassanaike, commented: “We are delighted to confirm that The Leith Group have been appointed as an Export Champion for the Northern Powerhouse. We would like to give a big ‘thank you’ to the Department for International Trade [DIT] for giving us the opportunity to represent the Export Community for a second consecutive year.
“We look forward to working with the wider Northern Powerhouse Export Champions in supporting SMEs in their export community, while continuing our own export journey. Our own focus for export growth in 2021-22 continues in China, India, North America and Sri Lanka thorough our Asia Investment Manager Rina Sowler and our Group Planning Director Paul Kallee-Grover.”
