The Oncology Imaging Systems [OIS] team travelled to the ESTRO 2022 congress in the Danish capital city of Copenhagen in May.
After two years of adapting to virtual events due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, Team OIS was pleased to be able to return to the latest in-person edition of the ESTRO [European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology] congress.
OIS displayed several of its products and solutions at multiple stands alongside its partners during the event. One such partner included technology pioneer and digitalisation solutions market leader, OPASCA. At the OPASCA stand, OIS had a full patient workflow suite on display, with OIS’ safety and workflow optimisation products captivating those in attendance.
The OIS Alta™ and ZiFix Traverse™ products were on display at a stand headlined by partner company, Qfix, which demonstrated how patient positioning products can successfully meet clinical setup needs and result in better patient outcomes.
Joining partners Standard Imaging, the OIS team was also present to demonstrate how StructSure AI QA software functions in quantitatively assessing auto segmentation contouring engines.
StructSure™ is a fast, intuitive application that allows users to objectively compare anatomical contours - generated by algorithms or humans - to a library of standards.
Team OIS also joined another of its partners, LAP, to present how bore-type linacs can be commissioned with THALES 3D water phantom.
Specifically designed to meet the stringent requirements of MR linac technology, the team enjoyed collaborating with the LAP team to discuss this valuable form of technology in person.
OIS managing director, Steve Imber, commented: “After two years of adapting to virtual communication methods throughout the pandemic, it was fantastic to participate in an in-person event and, of course, a privilege to be present at this year’s ESTRO.
“Following the success of ESTRO this year, we’re already looking forward to returning to the congress in May 2023, in the wonderful location of Vienna, Austria.”
