Profine GmbH has this year achieved the VinylPlus Product Label as part of its sustainability strategy.
The VinylPlus Product Label - developed by VinylPlus in partnership with the Building Research Establishment and The Natural Step - is the sustainability standard for PVC building products.
profine GmbH is now authorised to use the VinylPlus Product Label in the European and UK sales regions, as well as for various products and systems in the area of profiles and sheets. Partner companies in the window and door industry can also use the VinylPlus product label when advertising Kömmerling profile systems and sheets in tenders and to promote their forward push for sustainability to customers.
To receive the standard, profine had to undergo a lengthy certification process, fulfilling numerous criteria including responsible procurement of PVC raw materials and additives, closed material cycles and recycling, a sustainable energy and climate strategy, and process management requirements. This was to ensure profine’s raw material PVC was sustainably sourced, processed and recycled.
In a statement announcing the new certification, profine GmbH said: “We support the sustainable development of the European PVC industry. The company is also a member of key associations and initiatives such as EPPA and the German Rewindo recycling network.”
Dr. Peter Mrosik, owner and CEO of profine Group, added: “We have set ourselves the goal of aligning our entire company to a future worth living in, and we understand sustainability to be a holistic task: from using high-quality raw materials, the production of energy-efficient systems and extensive recycling up to the implementation of our corporate social responsibility.
“The partnership with VinylPlus and the VinylPlus Product Label fully underlines this philosophy.”
