Prime minister Boris Johnson is due to speak with US president Donald Trump on Tuesday as he nears his official return to work after overcoming coronavirus.
The PM's spokesperson said that the purpose of the conversation was to address G7 issues and the Covid-19 pandemic. His spokesperson stressed, however, that the prime minister has not officially returned to work as of yet.
According to The Telegraph, the spokesperson said: "In terms of when the Prime Minister does return to work he will be guided by the advice of his medical team.
"He is receiving updates and making some calls but the First Secretary of State continues to deputise and will take PMQs and chair Cabinet."
Johnson will also speak with the Queen over the phone this week, the first contact he will have had with the monarch in three weeks.
