Continued Care raises money for mental health

Harrogate-based care provider, Continued Care, who are rated as one of the top three percent of care homes in the UK by the CQC, have raised over a thousand pounds for the Mental Health Foundation.

The money was raised by seven of the Continued Care team completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge which requires participants to complete a twenty-four mile route which includes 1,585m of ascent.

Continued Care’s director Samantha Harrison said: “Thanks to Amy, Dave, Gary, Gill, Iona and Mike for joining me on the challenge, and well done to them all. It wasn’t an easy feat and we were exhausted by the end of it, but we are so proud that we did it.”

Harrison said they chose to support the Mental Health Foundation because of the importance of the charity’s work, particularly during this difficult time. The charity’s mission is to help people understand, protect and sustain their mental health, with their activity focused around prevention and awareness.

Harrison said, ‘We are mindful of the impact of Covid-19 not only affecting individuals’ physical health but also people’s mental health and wellbeing, which is why we decided to support this amazing charity.

‘Thank you to everyone who made a donation to our fundraising efforts, particularly as we appreciate how difficult it is to ask for sponsorship at this time. We are very grateful for all the fantastic support we received and are delighted that we are able to make this donation to such a worthwhile charity.’

The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is just one of a number of fundraising activities undertaken by Continued Care’s staff throughout the year.
