Marriott Drilling scoops two awards
John Beswick’s Derbyshire-based Marriott Drilling has won the award for Excellence in International Trade and the Business of the Year award from the East Midlands Chamber of Commence this year.
The organisation, which provides a range of specialist drilling and associated services to the oil, gas, gas storage, shale gas, coal bed methane, geothermal, mining, geoscience and water industries, has long been recognised as a leader in safety, innovation and technology for both domestic and international exploration and the development of natural resources.
Speaking about his plans for the future, Beswick said, ‘Our main operational focus is on quality and on the health, safety and welfare of our employees, together with environmental protection.
‘To adapt to the future trend towards more-robotic drilling rigs and associated equipment, designed to minimise personnel exposure to danger, we are already planning to introduce the latest state-of-the art rigs coupled with some artificial intelligence into East Africa.’
Telavox’s link up with Salesforce provides WFH lifeline
One of the few positives to come out of the Covid-19 pandemic has been the development of new technologies and the increased uptake of existing ones. These changes to our everyday working practices are likely to last long after the Covid-19 restrictions have been lifted.
The integration between Southampton-based Telavox and San Francisco-based Salesforce is something that has been of enormous benefit to many people who are working from home. It allows users to make, receive and log calls all from within the Salesforce platform.
Telavox for Salesforce logs every single call that you receive and it allows you to turn incoming calls into leads in a matter of seconds. For thousands of workers across the UK, it means that the vast bulk of their work can be done from one website.
Brits in home improvement spending splurge as Aonyx’s reputation continues to grow
Brits are spending more on home improvements than ever before, according to pollster YouGov.
With a massive fall in foreign travel throughout 2020, and with most people now spending significantly more time in their own homes, it makes sense that people are opting to spend their holiday cash on doing up their house.
This should come as good news for smart home experts Aonyx, who provide smart lights, heating and entertainment for commercial and residential properties, with everything linked to a single control system.
Led by Richard Reid, the Watford-based organisation has transformed countless homes since their inception in 2012.
Speaking about the challenges of building the company, Reid said:
‘One of the major challenges we faced, especially when starting out, was gaining recognition. As a small company, we needed to build a reputation among both clients and suppliers. In order to improve your reputation, you must complete projects, but without recognition it is hard to win these contracts.
‘We therefore chose the long route, working steadily and consistently to raise our profile, something which was based on the quality of our work.’
