Today’s leadership roundup brings news of Beauty Kitchen’s big clean up, MENTA’s new courses and a successful audit for Rivertrace. It also includes analysis of the chancellor’s new economic plans by Alasdair Shaikh from Shaikh and co, and Mark Jacobs’ take on virtual and hybrid exhibitions.

Beauty Kitchen

Cosmetics and personal care specialists Beauty Kitchen have taken part in the annual World Clean Up Day. Writing about the experience, they said:

‘Despite an ongoing pandemic, there was no way we were going to miss out on the biggest waste collection day in human history.

‘On Saturday 19th September, we proudly gathered up the whole Beauty Kitchen team to scour our local community of its rubbish. Litter picks in hand (spritzed with SOS Skin Shield+) and some Organic Vegan Hand Sanitiser in our pocket, we were primed and ready to go with our socially distanced clean up.’

MENTA

MENTA, the Norfolk and Suffolk-based business training, advice and support experts, have announced a new range of business training subjects.

These courses will be delivered online as well as in person. The company said that ‘these sessions provide attendees with a good understanding of the basic Lean Six Sigma methods and prepare them not only to participate as contributors to Lean Six Sigma projects, but also to start to address simple improvements in their own working area and business.’

MENTA CEO Alex Till added, ‘MENTA has always developed the offer to our clients to meet what they tell us they want from business support, we are able to offer a number dates for these new #sigmasix process management at a cost effective rate to clients’

The sessions begin from November 19.

Rivertrace

Rivertrace, the market leaders in Oil in Water Quality Monitoring, have announced that they have successfully passed their ISO 9001:2015 audit with BSI again with no non-conformances.

Responding to the success, the organisation said:

‘2020 has been a challenging year for everyone, but in the midst of a lot of doom and gloom it’s a pleasure to be able to share some good news stories.

‘With 36 years of experience, Rivertrace has embraced the challenges presented due to the global pandemic. We had already embarked on a journey of digitalisation to transform our business using technology to increase efficiency. We are constantly evolving and finding new and innovative ways to meet our objective of continuous measurable improvement and ensure future prospects and growth.’

Shaikh & Co

Alisdair Shaikh, senior partner of accountancy firm Shaikh & Co has offered a thorough analysis of chancellor of the exchequers new economic plans in the wake of further Covid restrictions.

Commenting on the policies, Mr Shaikh said, ‘I have got to say that Rishi deserves a pat on the back in my books, he has not tinkered around the edges but has gone for substance which I feel many businesses and owners will genuinely welcome.’

The Creative Engagement Group

In a thoughtful piece for PharmaTimes, Mark Jackson, the Creative Engagement Group’s head of environment, has given his thoughts on Virtual and Hybrid exhibitions.

‘The exhibitions sector has shown a remarkable degree of resilience in the face of the pandemic,’ he said. ‘That’s impressive considering this is a business focused on close human interaction, and that the rulebook has been completely torn up overnight. Show organisers, agencies and brands have all been thrust into a very unfamiliar world, and we are all trying frantically to establish a new version of normality.’
