Due to significant public demand, Injury Capture has expanded to become kulpa, the app that enables anyone to securely store legally admissible evidence and, by doing so, gives them options.
Using the app, users can now document exactly what happened, record when and where an incident occurred, upload all forms of supporting evidence [any file, any size], use the app’s forensic technology to take scaled images of physical injuries if there are any, upload any relevant medical records or proof of treatments and keep a private journal. Journal entries can also form part of the formal evidence if a user wishes. They can also invite other people to contribute evidence to their case if another person has additional evidence which will support their case.
The company, previously known as Anatomap Limited, remains fundamentally the same, but has simply been re-named kulpa Limited. As such, kulpa Limited retains its important international accreditations for information security [ISO 27001] and evidential weight and legal admissibility of electronic information [BS 10008].
The kulpa team has worked around the clock for several weeks to achieve the expansion, with its core aim remaining unchanged; to empower anyone who finds themselves a victim of crime, particularly those being abused, to collect legally admissible evidence which can, when they are ready, help them reach safety and achieve justice.
Speaking about the expansion, CEO Simon Franc said: “To give just one example of the importance of kulpa, currently 77 per cent of recorded domestic abuse cases cannot proceed due to an evidential difficulty. Whether a victim needs support from a civil lawyer or legal action from the police, evidence is everything. Kulpa empowers anyone to collect and securely store legally admissible evidence, evidence which can then be used to help the victim reach safety and get justice.”
Kulpa has confirmed that no data has been sold or moved, and its servers remain in the same secure and compliant locations.
From the perspective of customers and users, the only thing that has changed is the name of the company. There is also the added benefit of some new additional features, which will be released with the new kulpa app later in March 2022. Kulpa has confirmed that it will communicate further with all users when the new app is available to download.
Users' data will remain available via the Injury Capture app and, as the data has not moved, it will be immediately accessible using the same login credentials on the kulpa app as soon as it is launched on the App and Google Play stores. Put simply, it is a new name with the same login. The only action app users need to take is to download the new kulpa app once it is available and login as normal.
With evidence securely stored on the kulpa cloud, users have three options:
Option 1. They do not have to do anything, assured by the knowledge that their evidence is safe and secure and legally admissible if they do choose to take further action.
Option 2. Users can, via the app, quickly and easily send their case file to a lawyer or solicitor who can then hopefully assist in obtaining whatever civil order may be needed, whether that be a protective, restraining, or another form of order.
Option 3. Using the app, victims can report the incident and send their package of evidence directly to the police. The police will receive a single bundle of evidence, accompanied by an automatically generated evidential statement exhibiting all that evidence, together with a validating meta data report. The evidence is therefore verified and immediately legally admissible. Essentially, officers should have everything they need to immediately interview the suspect and hopefully charge them.
