Barking Enterprise Centre has organised an online business forum aimed at helping entrepreneurs prepare for the challenges of the post-Covid-19 world.

Organised in partnership with the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham, the online forum will work as a discussion among key stakeholders on how businesses can better respond and recover under the new normal brought about by the pandemic.

Participants will also have an opportunity to raise concerns and questions with authorities through the online Q&A session.

The forum’s keynote address will be delivered by Kate Willard, the Thames Estuary Envoy and chair of the Thames Estuary Growth Board. She is also senior adviser to Stobart Group and an independent consultant working on a diverse portfolio of infrastructure and growth projects.

The session will take place on July 16, starting from 17:45 BST.

On July 23 at 10:00 BST, budding entrepreneurs can also join a two-hour session run by the Barking Enterprise Centre which is aimed at individuals looking to start a business or become self-employed.

This particular session is aimed at providing general information around what aspiring business leaders must consider before starting up, particularly in the current climate. The workshop will look to help individuals on their way, while highlighting reasons that other businesses have failed in the past.

Issues covered will range from what it means to be self-employed, through to business planning and execution, basic information regarding tax payable and VAT, marketing the business, location and logistics, cashflow forecasts and financing.
