The International Association of Bookkeepers [IAB] has opened nominations for its 2022 awards.
The latest edition of the IAB Awards seeks to recognise the immense work and effort put in by businesses and individuals in the bookkeeping and accounting arena over the course of the previous 12 months, singling out those that have gone above and beyond through the trying times of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The 2022 awards are spread across six categories, including Bookkeeper of the Year; Accountant of the Year; Payroll Professional of the Year; Student of the Year; Tutor of the Year; and The Award for Innovation in Business, which comes as a new category for the 2022 showpiece.
Janet Jack, CEO of the IAB, said: “Being recognised for your work and efforts is of immense value and self-motivation, that’s why we feel that our awards not only benefit businesses but also individuals.
“This year, we are coming together to celebrate those that have excelled in their area.”
The Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals [CIPP] has kindly put its name forward to sponsor the Payroll Professional of the Year award, with CIPP chief executive Ken Pullar believing that it will help recognise one of the many outstanding and unsung heroes of the profession that has stood up and been counted throughout the health crisis.
Pullar said: “The events since March 2020 when Covid-19 made its presence known have emphasised the importance of payroll professionals in keeping the UK paid.
“The pandemic has laid bare the dedication and commitment of payroll professionals in carrying out their tasks to highest possible standard, and the public is becoming more aware than ever of the key role that these often unseen but essential individuals play within UK and global industry. This award will help raise further awareness and recognise one of the heroes of the industry for their incredible work.”
The window for nominations will close on Friday April 8, 2022, with the awards presented at a ceremony in the House of Commons on Wednesday June 22, 2022, which will run between 13:00 and 17:00 BST.
