Five Rivers Child Care has been recognised at the inaugural Paragon Skills Apprenticeship Awards after being declared winner in the Large Child Care Employer of the Year category.
The Paragon Skills Apprenticeship Awards were launched by Paragon Skills to celebrate the best and brightest learners and employers across the care, education and professional sectors. The inaugural awards in 2022 sought to recognise the ways in which employers and apprentices have contributed and are continuing to contribute to business recovery and highlight those who have shown their ongoing resilience as the nation moves out of the acute phase of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Apprentices and employers were nominated for the awards by the Paragon Skills team, with candidates from sectors including care, education and professional selected for the accolades, alongside six of the best employers. Winners include those who have managed to not only succeed despite the challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic but who have excelled in their contributions and efforts to apprenticeships in the past 12 months while showcasing outstanding excellence.
The awards were presented in a live virtual awards ceremony by Paragon Skills CEO Mark Botha, chief operating officer Ian Bamford and guest speaker, Jane Hickie, chief executive of the Association of Employment and Learning Providers [AELP].
From its base in Wiltshire, Five Rivers has been providing developmental, attachment, trauma-informed and personalised care across England and Ireland for more than 30 years. Founder, Pam McConnell, was elated that Five Rivers had been recognised for how it had looked to go above and beyond in its field, in the face of the immense challenge posed by the global pandemic over the previous two years.
McConnell commented: “We are delighted to have won Large Child Care Employer of the Year at the Paragon Skills awards. It is an honour to have been recognised for the amazing work that our learning and development team do.
“A special thanks must go to Karen, our learning and development manager, for making this possible.”
