Engineered Learning enters new partnership with Derby County Community Trust

Derby-based education and training provider Engineered Learning has entered a new partnership with Derby County Football Club's Community Trust, to provide the Trust’s traineeship learners with work experience opportunities.

Engineered Learning offers accredited work experience for under-16s with a focus on welding and steel fabrication. It also helps its students build their self-confidence, motivation and team-working abilities.

The Derby County Community Trust traineeship is a 12-week programme for 16-to-24-year-olds that is targeted toward easing members of that demographic back into education, employment, or training. Traineeship participants are to complete a 100-hour placement in a career area of their choosing as part of the programme, along with a set of Functional Skills qualifications and other exercises where needed.

Jody Hayes, the Trust’s education lead, was delighted with the new partnership and the opportunities it will open up for learners.

She said: “This new partnership with Engineered Learning will offer our learners a brand new experience in a field which we are not able to cater for in-house.

“Engineering is such a brilliant subject area for our learners to get involved in, especially as Derby has such a rich history in this field, and we can't wait to see how our students progress.”

Derby County Community Trust’s next traineeship for 16-to-24-year-olds starts on July 12 and will allow participants to take up an engineering work placement if they choose.
