Coronavirus update: PM leaves hospital, almost two million confirmed cases

Happy Easter from the Leaders Council. Sir Jeremy Farrar, a government scientific advisor, has warned that the UK could be the worst-affected country in Europe.

In other news, Prime Minister Boris Johnson left hospital today, after being held at St Thomas' in London and spending three nights in intensive care.

A spokeswoman for Commons leader Jacob Rees-Mogg has said that parliament could convene "virtually" from April 21.

In the Vatican, Pope Francis gave Easter Mass behind closed doors at St Peter's Basilica.

And the death toll in the US has now surpassed Italy's as the world's highest, at more than 20,000.

There are now more than 1.7 million confirmed cases in the world, and more than 110,000 people have died.
