CityFibre, the UK’s third digital infrastructure platform, has jointly announced a collaborative partnership with leading wholesale-only network provider Virtual1, which is geared toward serving the UK connectivity channel with full fibre business services.
The partnership will give way for Virtual1 to provide its partners with access to CityFibre’s differentiated business Ethernet infrastructure in its full fibre towns and cities across the UK from February 2021, while CityFibre leverages Virtual1’s national network to deliver fibre options beyond its own full fibre footprint to enable provision of the ‘off-net’ choice to its own partners.
Virtual1 has interconnected with CityFibre to leverage its network and enable over 600 channel partners to serve their business customers with a portfolio of 100Mbps to 1Gbps full fibre Ethernet products in 28 different cities, which will only expand further as CityFibre presses on with its UK wide rollout.
Virtual1’s founder and CEO Tom Hagan commented: “Our partnership with CityFibre is compelling news for Virtual1’s partners, combining CityFibre’s rapidly growing UK coverage and highly competitive commercials with the flexibility and empowerment of Virtual1’s Software Defined Network to deliver the best of both worlds.
“It brings together two of the UK’s most exciting connectivity providers in a way that makes sense for Virtual1, CityFibre, and most importantly the Channel.”
CityFibre Head of Wholesale, Andy Wilson, added: “Announcing our partnership with Virtual1 is an exciting moment. It marks the expansion of diversified Ethernet product choice for channel partners across the UK and is fantastic news for businesses who are looking eagerly for a compelling and competitively priced full fibre solution.”
Pricing options for CityFibre connectivity are available through Virtual1’s award-winning 1Portal, while CityFibre is presenting Virtual1 pricing in its portal Ethernet quoting tool.
