East Yorkshire house-builder Beal Homes has committed to sponsoring Hull-based children’s football club, Kingswood United, for a second year.

United, based in the community of Kingswood in Hull, first launched its soccer school for 60 youngsters aged four to seven in June 2019, supported by sponsorship from Beal Homes. Yet, its weekly sessions were so popular among local children that the club had little alternative but to expand its programme.

Kingswood now boasts 21 league teams catering for ages six to 13, alongside its soccer school and open sessions. Across all its activities combined, the club provides weekly football sessions for 240 local children.

In February this year, Beal agreed to sponsor Kingswood United for a second year due to the ongoing success of the club, with monies going toward winter jackets for the club’s 26 volunteers and coaches.

United’s founder, secretary and coach, Paul Richardson, praised Beal for its support past and present, saying: “Beal’s initial sponsorship helped to kick-start Kingswood United and get our soccer school up and running. It has helped us to engage with the children and meant we could buy equipment, footballs and their first kit.

“It’s great to have ongoing support from Beal, especially because they are a prominent housebuilder in Kingswood. They’re not just building houses – they’re supporting the local community and encouraging local children to play sport.

“Having this support, especially during such a challenging year, is incredible and it’s so nice of Beal to do this. It shows they believe in what we’re doing.”

Beal Homes sales and marketing director, Sue Waudby, commented: “We’re delighted to support Kingswood United again and we’re really pleased our initial sponsorship helped to get the club off the ground.

“Kingswood United is now a key part of Kingswood community. It’s brilliant to see it thriving and being enjoyed by so many people.”

Beal’s support for the Kingswood community goes far beyond its support of United. Over the previous 25 years, Beal has built over 1,200 homes in the area and remains its only local residential developer.

One of Beal’s notable developments in the area includes Kings Vale II, which consists of two, three and four-bedroom homes situated in the popular Kingswood Parks zone.
