Leading cloud technology company Babble has recruited elite endurance cyclist, James Golding, as a brand ambassador.
The announcement came as Golding was ramping up personal preparations for the 2022 Race Across America [RAAM] by attempting to break the Guinness Seven Day World record for second time in June this year, an attempt from which Golding was forced to retire early amid worsening weather conditions and joint pain, in order to avoid injury.
Babble will work with Golding to drive positive social impact and has committed as part of the ambassadorship deal to raising more than £500,000 in funds for charities including The Prince’s Trust and the Buffalo Foundation.
Golding, a professional endurance cyclist, has twice battled and recovered from cancer since first being diagnosed with the illness over a decade ago. He discovered cycling during his recovery fight and has gone on to compete in 21 multi-day events and raised more than £3 million for various charities.
He is the only Briton to have held the Guinness Seven Day World record and has used his story to inspire others to visualise their own goals and strive to achieve them.
When announcing the addition of Golding, Babble declared that the move formed part of their wider business strategy to inspire people to aspire to goals and draw on their personal strengths to achieve them.
Babble CEO, Matthew Parker, commented: “As a business, we firmly believe that drawing on individuals’ strengths, together we can all achieve more. We can all push the finish line as far as we want to, but it is up to us to be transparent about identifying, discussing, and accomplishing our ambitions. James is the embodiment of this ethos.
“In the last 12 months, we have enjoyed outstanding results as we have sought to attain our own business goal of becoming the biggest, best and most capable cloud technology player in the UK, but we want to be much more than just a technology company. Through this partnership, we hope to encourage others to dream big, and pursue their own versions of success and accomplishment.”
Golding added: “Positive change is contagious, and all positive change starts with a vision. Through my own experience I have come to understand that we can all achieve anything we want to – one step at a time. In partnership with Babble, I aim to show this to the next generation.”
