As we move forward from a challenging period in British history marked by Brexit, a global pandemic, and economic and social disruption, it is crucial that we consider the quality of life we want to see in our country over the next thirty years. Anthropy, a platform for multidisciplinary and cross-sectional thinking, is dedicated to providing input, policies, and practices that are human-centric and practical.
Their goal is to help leaders create a vision for a more socially cohesive society, where individuals have equal opportunities and conditions to contribute and play a fulfilling role in Britain's future. The organisers believe that this can be achieved by promoting excellence, sharing concepts, and encouraging innovative thinking.
Inviting national decision-makers across all sectors to join in this endeavor and help shape the future of our country. Together, as leaders they can create a Britain that is inclusive, equitable, and prosperous for all its citizens.
At the Anthropy event, Adelphi sponsored two healthcare sessions to discuss the role of biopharmaceuticals and the future of later life care.
The first session, "Biopharmaceuticals: Building patient trust and value for a positive Society" was introduced by Stuart Cooper, CEO of Adelphi Group, and chaired by Helen McDowell, Head of Government Affairs and Global Public Health at ViiV Healthcare. The panel included experts from Bayer Pharmaceuticals UK, PatientView, Boehringer Ingelheim UK, and a pro-bono advisor to green healthcare initiatives. They discussed how the development decisions made by biopharma companies and their increasingly integrated contributions to the total delivery of healthcare have a major role in creating a prosperous and successful future for society.
The second session, "Our vision of later life care for the next generation" was introduced by Stuart Cooper and chaired by Catherine Foot, Director of Insights at the Phoenix Group. The panel included Deborah Alsima, CEO of Versus Arthritis, Javed Khan, Chair of the Integrated Care Board for Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, and Berkshire West (BOB), Kate Lee, CEO of the Alzheimer's Society, and Karyn Johnston, Chief Executive of East Cheshire Hospice. They discussed their vision for the future of later life health and care and their ideas for how to improve the current systems to enable all individuals to enjoy a good quality of life as they age.
