Exam results days are often a stressful experience for students. While so much regarding the future is at stake, there are always some who open their results on the day and are disappointed by the outcome, perhaps unable to proceed to college or university. However, Cherwell College is ensuring that this is not a terminal setback and is offering a host of flexible options to help learners bounce back and progress to the next stage of their academic lives.
Cherwell College is offering retake courses for students who have not hit their A-Level or GCSE target grades; would like additional support in reapplying for university; would like to bolster their knowledge of the subject curriculum; or may wish to change exam boards.
With support from Cherwell tutors, students can improve their knowledge and rebuild confidence ahead of their resits. As a pre-university tutorial college, Cherwell’s tuition follows the Oxbridge style of small group and one-to-one learning to ensure key areas for improvement are covered during the retake high school courses. Students wishing to take an A-Level resit course are able to start at any time in the academic year and will be privy to expert UCAS advice and support with university reapplication. Students taking a resit course (whether A-Level retake courses or GCSE retake courses) at the college are also eligible for full-boarding and day study options at Cherwell.
The close contact with expert tutors helps students rebuild confidence and self-esteem in a supportive and motivating learning environment. For students who have fallen short at GCSE level, it is still possible to progress to A-Level study at Cherwell while preparing for GCSE resits.
The comprehensive one-year resit courses at A-Level and GCSE are an ideal opportunity for students to bounce back, maximising their chances of getting the requisite grades for the next step of their academic journey.
