The latter months of 2021 have brought great success for Norland College graduate Ella Trigwell, who launched her Marvellous Babysitting app service in the Somerset city of Bath in October before subsequently expanding the service nationwide.
Marvellous Babysitting helps parents to easily book Norland’s trusted students or graduates, known as Norlanders or Norland Nannies, for short-term, flexible childcare and babysitting jobs. The simple and convenient mobile app makes booking quick and easy, and the partnership is the first of its kind for Norland College, an institution which is specialised in training those who aspire to be early years practitioners.
Marvellous Babysitting founder and Norlander, Ella Trigwell, commented: “Our new partnership with Norland will help us enable more families to access Norland Nannies for short-term flexible childcare. As a Norlander, I experienced first-hand the importance of Norland’s rigorous training when looking after children and the reassurance that it provides to parents. I believe that every child deserves outstanding care, even if it’s just for an occasional evening or a single day. Marvellous, in partnership with Norland, now provides a way for busy families to quickly and easily access the trusted, quality childcare they need.”
The Norlanders booked onto these childcare jobs are fully trained and are experienced in a range of early years settings, and will have worked with families before. Their role is not solely restricted to monitoring children for safety, but they are capable of catering for any childcare needs including meal preparation, helping with homework, taking care of bath and bedtime routines, and are well placed to advise parents on aspects such as sleep training and weaning.
All Norland students and graduates available through the app will have an up to date 12-hour Paediatric First Aid certificate and Enhanced DBS check.
After initially launching in Bath and London, the app has now rolled out nationwide and is downloadable from the Apple Appstore and Google Play Store.
