Crowthorne-based design and build company, Creative Project Services, can look back on the previous year with immense pride, after being named the Best Architectural Design and Build Company in Berkshire at the annual BUILD Magazine Construction and Engineering Awards.
The 2021 edition was the sixth consecutive year of the prestigious competition, which seeks to promote businesses that have been conscious of their environmental impact but also managed to demonstrate ingenious aptitude and skill in the profession.
The award programme for 2021 focused on recognising those firms that had been working hard to contribute to the industry and keep it moving forward, despite the many challenges associated with the Covid-19 pandemic.
Entrepreneur and property professional, Elliot Wakeford, managing director at Creative Project Services, commented: “After a couple of very busy and challenging, yet rewarding years, we are extremely proud to have been awarded this honour of Best Architectural Design and Build Company for Berkshire. I would like to thank our team of designers, builders, accompanying tradesmen, and the wonderful clients we have for helping make this possible.
“One of the projects in our portfolio that was considered in the awards process was for architecturally designing, and building/transforming a 1,700-square-foot cottage into a 4,000-square-foot luxury home. This eight-month project was six weeks into the programme when the pandemic hit. We were quick to react to protect all trades involved and implemented additional health and safety processes even before the Health and Safety Executive [HSE] had produced guidelines for the industry to follow.
“We are most proud of finishing this project only three weeks late, the first time we have ever delivered a project late and getting a lovely family with young children into their new home. These clients will always hold a special place with us.
“Working in a profession that allows you to be creative, and change peoples’ lives though the environment they spend time in is very rewarding. Everyone that works for, or with the company, shares my passion and enthusiasm to create or compliment lifestyles. Thank you BUILD Magazine for acknowledging the work we do at Creative.”
Paying tribute to Creative Project Services and the many award winners in the other categories, awards coordinator, Steve Simpson, said: “I am proud to celebrate the commendable businesses who have achieved so much in such a turbulent year. Heartiest congratulations to all of the winners this year and I wish them all the best for the following year.”
