Driver Require has come a long way since its establishment in 2000. Initially launched by founder Steve Prince with its first office in the Hertfordshire town of Stevenage, the business has since been built through a period of immense change.
Driver Require’s founding mission statement was to serve local drivers and clients upon an ethos of values and excellence. Today, it is recognised by many as much more than that: a regional specialist recruitment company for the transport industry, boasting a team of 40 people across seven branches.
Yet, even with all that success behind it, Driver Require remains determined to raise the bar when it comes to standards of excellence in serving drivers and clients.
Kieran Smith, CEO of the company today, explains that the industry is facing as tough a time as ever before, with supply and demand issues and the driver shortage crisis all posing their own problems. Even amid all of this, Driver Require is bidding to continue to thrive in a tough and demanding environment.
Smith said: “At Driver Require, we’ve forged ahead with our well-defined vision and commitment to excellence and our core values, despite the business challenges, confident and eager to grow. After 20 years of hard work, we are just as ambitious as we were when started, but with more experience, better skills, state-of-the-art systems and stronger partnerships.
“The events of the past six months and the driver shortage crisis have shown us that we can no longer undervalue our drivers and under-invest in basic services and facilities. Driver Require remains whole-heartedly committed to working with road haulage representatives, government and hauliers to changing this and we’re doing everything we can to bring the nation’s attention to improving pay and conditions for the heroes who keep the wheels turning and our nations businesses delivering.”
Smith also took the time to pay tribute to all those within the business who have helped make Driver Require’s success possible, and expressed his excitement for the future.
He continued: “As we mark this special year, we’d like to thank each and every driver and team-member who has worked with us and our valued clients for trusting us to deliver their goods. I am extremely proud of our team, of their loyalty, passion and dedication, their determination to constantly go beyond the extra mile and their professional drive and belief in our values.
