Notable Achievements

  • Won dozens of customer service awards whilst at Specsavers

Prash Patel is a director at Care More Recruitment, a company that specialises in healthcare and nursing recruitment, supporting the private sector in delivering high quality service with a flexible and responsive approach.

Career Overview

Patel is a qualified ophthalmic optician and also holds a degree in Maths and in Optometry. He helped Specsavers build its renowned brand by owning and running four successful stores between 1998 and 2020.

Prior to qualifying as an optician and working at Specsavers, Patel worked as a group pensions analyst for Legal & General Investment Management between 1990 and 1992.

Patel created the Care More brand himself in 2014 to provide exceptional care services, buoyed by his extensive retail, health and customer service expertise.

Prash's career began after completing his mathematics degree at Southampton University, when he joined Legal and General Investment Management as a group pensions analyst. While the role had its merits, Prash felt a lack of personal connection and a desire for a more human-centered profession.

Motivated to pursue a career that aligned with his passion for meaningful interaction and exceptional care, Prash decided to return to university, this time at Cardiff, to train as an Ophthalmic Optician. Throughout his studies, Prash was driven to deliver the best care and experience for his customers, leading him to explore entrepreneurial opportunities and establish his own business soon after becoming qualified.

Specsavers emerged as the ideal fit for Prash's vision. In the early days, the company valued entrepreneurial skills and embraced new ideas, allowing Prash to actively shape the direction of the company. Over a span of 23 years, Prash's experience and expertise grew, leading him to open multiple stores and even pioneer the first Specsavers Hearcare store in the London region. Prash's commitment to customer service excellence resulted in numerous accolades, with his stores consistently receiving awards, including first place in the UK and top regional rankings.

As Specsavers transitioned into a more corporate entity, Prash realised his yearning for the enterprising side of healthcare. Driven by his unwavering focus on customer care, he embarked on another business venture that would combine his customer-facing skills and dedication to providing outstanding care. Thus, Care More was born, allowing Prash to leverage his experience as an Ophthalmic Optician and deliver exemplary domiciliary home care services and recruitment solutions.

As Care More grew and flourished, Prash recognised the need to specialise and provide tailored care to different sectors. This realisation led to the establishment of Care More Recruitment, ensuring a dedicated focus on recruiting exceptional staff and delivering high-quality care services.

Prash's guiding values include a person-centered approach, a commitment to quality, and a genuine care for others. He emphasises the selection of top-notch staff and prioritises the needs of the customer, aiming to provide the highest standard of care that he would want his own family to receive.

Education

Patel is an alumnus of the University of Southampton, from which he attained a BSc in Mathematics graduating in 1990.

After two years working with Legal & General, Patel began studying for a BSc in Optometry at Cardiff University in 1992, graduating in 1995.
