Nick Barnett is the managing director of The Caldecott Foundation, a specialist care and education provider to some of the UK’s most vulnerable children and young people.

Career Overview

Nick has an established background in children and young people’s services. After qualifying as a social worker in the mid-2000s, Nick's career in the industry took off between 2010 and 2012, when he worked as a regional manager for The Advanced Childcare Group. In the position, he was responsible for ten residential children’s homes and an EBD school.

For two years after leaving The Advanced Childcare Group, Nick worked as a supervising social worker for foster families working under Clifford House Fostering Service. Between 2014 and 2016, Nick was a dedicated foster parent under the service.

During his spell as a foster parent, Nick joined The Caldecott Foundation, initially as a consultant in its service and change department. After impressing in just under two years working in the role, he was appointed managing director of the foundation in May 2017. He remains MD to date.

Education

Nick is an alumnus of Ludlow College, where he completed an NVQ Level 3 in Child Care. He later went on to study at Coventry University where he completed his Social Work Diploma in 2005.
