Kevin Crisp is the owner of Crisp Vocational Provision, an alternative provision based in the centre of Nottingham that offers opportunities to students from across the East Midlands who are struggling to access or engage in a mainstream school. They provide young people with the opportunity to participate in personalised learning sessions, which are tailored to their specific needs.
Career Overview
Crisp established Crisp Vocational Provision in 2013, and it now offers alternative provision of education in subjects including construction, motor mechanics, sport, English, mathematics, science and PSH. It caters for pupils from year 8 to year 11.
Prior to forming Crisp Vocational Provision, Crisp had been working in PRUs and mainstream settings for six years and felt that his offerings could reach a greater volume of people if they were to focus solely on providing for students on the margins of mainstream school. He began Crisp Vocational Provision as a two-person team with himself and a teaching assistant operating from limited facilities. After a swift increase in interest, the offering extended as did its workforce and education provision.
