Portsmouth restaurant and hotel business Becketts Southsea has secured yet another prestigious accolade, having been confirmed as the winner of the Venue of the Year 2021 Award for the Hampshire region in this year's LUXlife Magazine Customer Service Excellence Awards.
Becketts and the other winners, which were selected from the list of nominees by an unbiased internal panel of diverse individuals from various fields, will be showcased at the awards ceremony for the sixth annual edition of the LUXlife Hospitality Awards in October.
The latest edition of the LUXlife Hospitality Awards comes as a special recognition of those key individuals and businesses that have gone above and beyond during an unprecedented year, which has seen the sector stricken by the Covid-19 crisis.
Across all the award categories, every type of business across the UK hospitality space has been recognised, from hospitality management to public relations, tour operators, restaurants, nightclubs, bars, marketing services, events and recruitment.
The winners have been selected entirely on merit as opposed to numbers of votes received, with factors such as excellence in the industry, quality of product and dedication to service all taken into account.
This latest award is fifth that Becketts has achieved within just two years, adding to the Best Restoration 2019, Best Boutique Hotel 2019, Hospitality Experience of The Year 2020, and Most Vibrant Restaurant 2021 awards that it has received to date.
Having received confirmation of the award win from LUXlife, a beaming Terence Carvalho [pictured], the general manager at Becketts, said: “It’s so amazing having another trophy to add to our collection, we just keep winning and winning!
“This is our fifth award in my two-year tenure as general manager at Becketts and I could not be prouder of the whole team for making this possible.”
The immense progress that Becketts has made as a business since Terence’s arrival at the helm has not gone unnoticed, with the general manager having been named among the finalists for Portsmouth News’ Entrepreneur of the Year 2021 Award.
Despite eventually missing out on the award, Terence remains focused on continuing to improve his business and ensuring that his colleagues continue to deliver the best possible service to customers at the highest standards.
“To see staff members improving continuously and earning more and more positive reviews for their work is the biggest privilege you can have as a manager”, Terence said.
“Although this time around I just missed out on the Best Entrepreneur award, we’ll keep on improving and there is always the chance we’ll have better luck next year. We go again!”
